I have a 18 690 Duke and have 4000 miles on and engine oil gets changed every 1000 miles and dumped when hot, also warm up till 4 bars are on water temp, That's looking after an engine, all right. I agree that 4k between changes is too much, even if it is KTM's recommendation.
